This is a very good question! I distinguish "good from not so good" affiliations by the way they handle themselves. When I join a website/program...I do it expecting to be able to work the program/website at my own pace. I once joined a website and was saving it to explore later. I got a phone call from the "upline" of the person I joined under. The upline was telling me I needed to pay a $30 monthly fee NOW in order to start reaping the benefits of the program. I had not even had a chance to check out the program and he was pressuring me to make payments. I have not visited that program again. I don't like being pressured into doing anything, especially when it's going to cost me money every month. If the person tells me to take my time and get to know the program/website with any pressure and offer to help me to understand it, that is what I consider a "good affiliation."
