A better salesman is an honest person who will go the distance with backing and support with whatever product or service he or she may endorse. This can only be done by the use of the product or service in question. One of the problems with the honest salesman is if the product doesn't work for them it still may be a good product but they can't endorse it as one. The honest salesman will gain a more steady client base of supporters.
The Slick Talking salesman who is dishonest is more interested in in the quick sale and fast turnover who will meet his quota and get out of Dodge. The problem with that is sooner or later he or she will run out of Dodge Cities to sell to.
The results are the honest salesman will be able to raise his head up high and enjoy the fruits of his labor much longer.
