Those just starting out need all the help they can get and can't afford to be paying for programs and tools that, more than likely, won't help them in their efforts anyway. The problem is that these items come with a lot of hype attached and once you get them you are left to your own devices to figure out how they are supposed to work to benefit you.
Networking is people helping people through brainstorming and exchanging ideas. It's not about I buy your product and you buy mine. I consider doing business with people whom I have come to know and trust. It has nothing to do with whether or not they reciprocate by investing in my business. If they are not offering me something of real value then I am not interested. If I can give someone some help, why should I be expected to be paid for offering to help them. Expecting to be paid for helping someone out is just plain greed.
