Yes you do have to track all of your marketing campaigns other wise like you said how do you know where your traffic is coming from. I do this with my emails also see who opens them, replies or just asks to be removed which is OK also......since they are not buying anything from me in the first place.....so track your ads, emails and most of all found out which page brought that target hit to your website. Knowing this information along will save you time effort and provide you with information on which key words or key phrases are working for you before you modified your key words if you on a PPC.......
