First things first, I searched but no results came back. My question: How do I become an expert? Do people have to vote on my answers, or do I have to just answer a lot of questions? Thanks.

Hi Gil, i think it boils down to the quality of your answer.
I personally don't answer all questions, i just answer the ones that grab my attention.
So i don't think volume has anything to do with it.
Also when the person that asked the question, is satisfied that he or she received the answer he or she was looking for, they have the option of closing the question, and voting for the best answer.
Hi Gilbert - I have only been active here for a few weeks so I do not have all the answers yet. But one thing I do appreciate is the daily tasks we are given and I feel that if I do them regularly, I will certainly become an expert on this site.
Cheers
Sue
It comes from answering questions intelligently. The more your give intelligent answers the closer you get to being and expert. And that is all I will say. Like the rest of the site, quality participation.
Thanks Sue, but the expert I am referring to is those on this page, see on top it has a link to "top Experts" those are the people are answer question. So my question is do I become an expert by sheer volume, meaning I just go crazy answering questions, or do I become an expert because people felt my answers were useful and voted for me.
Provide interesting and helpful answers and surely you would be a popular member. Members would love to read your answers and would vote for you.
I don't vote for everyone. But if I find an information helpful, there is no doubt I would vote for them.
