Go over to CNET and do a search for "Top Rated Free Registry Cleaners " there is one that has been highly rated and reviewed by site members and visitors at the top of the list.

Ask yourself if you really want someone who claims they are working for free, to have access into the very nerve system of your computer, to have a free hand at changing anything in there without your knowledge and adding any programs they want to force you to run. NOT ME BABY!!! If I ever do get a registry cleaner, it will be from a reputable BUSINESS that makes a profit from my purchase.

Ccleaner is a good choice. I have been using it for years. One thing you should always do when running this type of software is go through the list of entries that will be deleted, if you are not sure about a certain entry, take the tick off so that it remains intact. No registry cleaner is perfect, and if you have no or little knowledge it is best not too mess around with your systems registry, you can mess up the whole setup.

as far as I am conserned there is only one safe registry cleaner and it is not free - it is a yerly subscription. - as old buddy said you get wat you pay for and i will go as far as to say 99.999999999999999999999999999999% of so called free registry cleaners are either a con to get you to buy tier full product because the free one can only tell you there are thousands of problems when most of it is cookies temp files etc. that have noting to do with the actual registry. or they are built by hackers as method to get control of your pc. DO NOT GET FREE and if you do dont come cryig here about it.

Bill, that is why i only gave him one option. Ccleaner has never given me any problems, and with 300 million plus downloads, and no real complaints in forums i doubt that this program is rubbish. As long as you download it from their original site, which by the way has a "no adware or spyware" website certification, you are safe. This is the only free registry cleaner i recommend, as i know the catches with all the hundreds of others, i tested most of them myself. If the question has asked for a paid option i would have given him options for that.

@Dawie well i think you get my stand and it is dont use free however I trust you sufficiently to back your recommendation. it must bee the 0.00000000000000000000000000001% safe lol oh and by the way the paid one i don't get commission on so no win for me there.

I second Dawie. CCleaner is the way to go. I'm not saying it, a former colleague which was considered very good with OS ( Unix and Windows ) installed CCleaner on every PC at that office.

The best "FREE" Registry Cleaner I use and recommend to my Customers and Friends is from comodo.com. It is really free.
