First choose a subject that you have some knowledge on. Look for other articles written on the subject. DO NOT COPY OTHER ARTICLES. Use others as a guide to gather information and give you ideas. Google your subject, see if there is more information. Write your article. A good article should have 200-500 words.

One more thing I would add to Katrina's tips : do not write your article as if you were advertising some product. It must be informative, or entertaining. A touch of personal experience is always welcome, since some readers will relate to it, reading your article will be a vivid experience, they will more easily remember you

First give a search on the web for popular article sites. Go through each category and you would get many ideas how to write a good article. Share your ideas and whatever topics that interest you. For example write articles on internet marketing tips, ideas for good relationship, how to avoid stress in life, your relationship with your best friend. This would be a good start.

Reading other articles is one of the best ways to get a feel for writing yourself. As already mentioned you can visit many online article directories and choose the category that best relates to your subject. Another great way for getting a feel of writing your own articles is by reading blogs and forums that are related to your subject. You can get many ideas for your articles just from reading relevant blogs. Reading forum responses will not only give you ideas for writing articles, they will also provide you with valuable insight into what people are truly having problems with or what they might be in search of. Do a search for blogs or forums that are relevant to the theme of your articles and start listing ideas that you could write about.
