I have used Avast.com free version for years and installed for dozens of clients with no problems. I removed AVG years ago because it failed to do the job, but it may have been improved.
I use spydoctor but I also use Firefox. Firefox is a great web explore and can help block viruses from getting on your computer. I don't suggest just getting Firefox I would still use spydoctor. Firefox is free to download and I believe spydoctor has a free trial.
Kaspersky is recommended by bj he is not the nicest guy on the planet but he takes computer security seriously. BTW, I heard the popular ones buy their code from Kaspersky. $60 a year is cheap for business peace of mind.
Check to see if your Internet Service Provider offers any packages Mine offers Norton but that slows and even stops my computer so I use Glary Utilities and Microsoft Security Essentials all free and all updated regular. Sometimes a pop up program tries to turn off the virus scan and Security essentials informs me immediately
I would recommend using AVIRA anti-virus. It is free. It is light - does not use up too much of your computers resources. And most importantly it does an excellent job of protecting your computer. I have used it for over a year and I have nothing to complain about.
Hi there, I would suggest using spy-doctor. Its free and it works very well for me. Just type in.. In Google Search... free downloads. If you do not already have it you may want to check out the "google pack" . It has many free downloads. You can choose what you want or need. Spy-doctor is included.
Hope this is helpful.
